The Gifts of Being an HSP
Depth of ProcessingTo be able to "process" deeply on a mental, emotional or somatic level can be an incredible asset in one's life & also help to determine a professional life path. HSPs tend to do well in therapy with a good fit therapist, because they enjoy the process of observing themselves & having themselves reflected back accurately.
EmpathyBeing highly empathic can create amazing levels of connection to other people & other beings. Boundaries can support the HSP to benefit more from this trait.
It can be useful to find a focus for the empathy. HSPs tend to long for purpose & meaning. |
Super Sensory ExperienceSometimes being easily over-stimulated by lighting, smells, textures, etc. can seem too much to live with, however this trait creates an individual who can enjoy food, art, the smell of flowers, etc. to an incredible degree. HSPs often explain that sensory experiences can bring them to tears of joy.
Body AwarenessThis is an area that often needs attention for HSPs in therapy. Their high level of body awareness (interoception) may become reorganized in childhood & into young adulthood. Working to stop the over-riding of the body's wisdom is life changing.
CreativityHSPs often enjoy creative pursuits for work or leisure, but can also move away from it due to outside opinions & pressures. HSPs also tend to love observing & participating in other's creative expressions & performances.
Intuition & ObservationSometimes the keen observing eye of an HSP can lead to them over-thinking or determining something that isn't true. Because HSPs are so very observant & intuitive, they can sometimes know something that someone else is not yet conscious of. It can be a game-changer for them to learn how to bring their felt sense or knowledge forward to others (& who is worth their time & energy!).
